Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has backed Liverpool to win their first-ever Premier League title as they hold a comfortable eight-point gap over second-placed Leicester City.
The Merseyside giants ended the previous season on a high with Champions League glory and they have continued with the same vein of form this season where they are holding a strong advantage at the top of the league standings.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Mourinho said that Liverpool are a complete team in his point of view and does not feel the Reds will surrender their nine-point advantage to the Citizens by the end of the season."
"I think the team is a complete puzzle. I feel the way they play is adapted to the qualities of the players. City are capable of winning seven, eight, nine matches in a row, but I can't see how Liverpool can lose this advantage of nine points to them," he told.
The Reds recently registered a 3-1 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League and that has extended their unbeaten start to the current top-flight campaign.
Following the international break, Jurgen Klopp's side have a friendly schedule as they don't face a single top-six team for the rest of the year. They should be fancied to hold onto their advantage during the festive period.
