Inter yet to meet Giroud's contract demands

Inter Milan reluctant to meet Chelsea star's demands?

Inter Milan are reportedly reluctant to meet the contract demands of Olivier Giroud, who is considering a move away from Chelsea in the New Year.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The Frenchman is currently regarded as the third-choice striker behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi at Stamford Bridge and he is likely to push for a mid-season exit from the Blues.

Inter have been touted as the preferred destination for the striker in recent weeks but Gazzetta dello Sport claims that a deal could be in jeopardy due to Giroud's reluctance to lower his wage demands.

The former Arsenal man is apparently reluctant to take a paycut on his current wages while he is said to demand a two-and-a-year contract instead of the 18-month option presented by the Nerazzurri.

Giroud has remained a regular with France despite his limited gametime with the Blues but he is aware that his failure to earn more minutes at the club level could cost him a berth for the European Championship finals next summer.
