Wigan boss Steve Bruce rued his sides luck after they slipped to a 2-0 defeat against Portsmouth; but the Latics were guilty of missing several glorious chances to wrap up victory. David James was in inspired form as he kept out Wigan.

    “For years I've said 'you're only as good as your strikers'. Today the little guy who plays up front for Portsmouth has had two chances and scored two goals. We've created chances but failed to find a goal.



    "For all your efforts and endeavours, if you don't score you don't win football matches.”
