Manchester United have reportedly made contact with the agent of Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal regarding a potential January move to Old Trafford.
The Chilean has been restricted to just three starts for the Blaugrana this term and he is said to be open to the prospect of a fresh challenge at the turn of the year.
According to FC Inter News, the Red Devils hold a long-term interest in Vidal and they had sought to sign him in the summer of 2014 prior to his move to Bayern Munich.
The same publication claims that Fernando Felicevich, who previously brokered Alexis Sanchez's move to the club, has been contacted regarding a potential transfer of the midfielder in the New Year.
United have depended on Fred and Andreas Pereira for the midfield duties of late but the duo have struggled with their distribution which has generated criticism from the club's faithful.
The Red Devils recently played out a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa at home. As a result, they have dropped to the ninth spot on the table and are already eight points behind the top four.
