Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has discussed his plans for the January transfer window, with the high-flying Premier League outfit set to spend big. Wilder has brought about incredible form for Sheff Utd particularly this season and it is understood that at least two new faces will be arriving at Bramall Lane.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Everton player Mason Holgate has been linked with a move to Sheffield United, and it is also rumoured that several Championship players are being considered by the club.

“We’re possibly looking at two or three players coming into the group. Not big changes,” the Blades manager told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“Maybe a couple going out, but two or three coming in to give us a lift and boost in the changing room. And to strengthen the squad for the second part of the season.

“We need to have serious competition. We’re actively looking and we’d love to push the button early on, but it’s not as easy as we’d like it to be.”

Wilder is likely to be given a budget of around £25 million to spend next month.
