Roy Hodgson speaks on Wilfried Zaha's future

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has stated that the club won't sanction the sale of Wilfried Zaha in January amid the speculated interest from the likes of Chelsea.

  • The Ivorian was the subject of transfer offers from both Arsenal and Everton over the summer but neither were willing to meet the Eagles £80m price tag for his services.

Zaha has since contributed just three goals and one assist for the Eagles but he has been vital to their attacking play which has propelled them to the ninth place in the standings.

Speaking in a press conference, Hogdson has clarified that Zaha is not up for sale during the winter transfer window and the club's hierarchy are firm on the stance.

"Wilf is not for sale, so basically I don't need assurances. We aren't trying to sell Wilfried Zaha, we want to keep him. What assurance can people give? I have the assurance there is no one in the club that wants to sell Wilfried Zaha," he said.

Palace have an away game at bottom side Norwich City following the turn of the year and they have the opportunity to register their first away win since late November.
