Manchester United make James Maddison transfer decision

Manchester United have reportedly conceded that they are unlikely to land the signature of James Maddison from Leicester City during the winter transfer window.

  • The Red Devils have funds to bolster the squad in the current transfer window and Maddison has been earmarked as one of the prime targets to strengthen the attacking midfield department.

However, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has clearly stated that Maddison is not up for sale and Sky Sports News claims that United don't expect to push through a big-money move for the playmaker this month.

Maddison is currently valued in excess of £80m but the Foxes have no plans of sanctioning his departure, particularly with them in a strong position to return to the Champions League next term.

Aside from Maddison, United have been credited with an interest in Wolves striker Raul Jimenez. The west Midlands outfit are reluctant to cash in on their prized asset unless the Red Devils come up with a club-record £100m package.
