Manchester United are reportedly prepared to spend a sizeable fee as they seek to land the signature of Marcos Llorente from Atletico Madrid.
The Red Devils have been fancied to part ways with Paul Pogba in the summer and there are also doubts regarding Nemanja Matic whose performances have been criticised in the past.
As a result, the club are looking for reinforcements in the centre of the park and it appears that Llorente has been earmarked as one of the options for next summer's transfer window.
United have been linked with a possible loan move for Llorente but Atletico appear intent on keeping him for the season at the least before sanctioning his departure, as per Marca.
Still, the 24-year-old midfielder won't come on the cheap and reports indicate that Atletico will demand a fee of around £51m to part ways with the former Real Madrid man.
Manchester United will be in action against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday evening. The Red Devils could reduce the five-point gap to fourth-placed Chelsea with a positive result.
