Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has indicated that the club will make a late decision over the involvement of Reece James against Arsenal following his recent knee injury.
The England youth international sustained the damage during the backend of the league clash at Newcastle United last weekend, where the Blues suffered a shock 1-0 defeat.
Speaking in the press conference ahead of the Arsenal game, Lampard confirmed that James picked up an injury to the back of his knee and a late fitness test may determine his inclusion for the London derby.
"He’s got an injury to the back of his knee area. It’s not as bad as it could have been or we maybe thought so he’s in contention for tomorrow but it’s going to be a tight call," he told.
Chelsea beat the Gunners with two late goals in the 2-1 triumph at the Emirates Stadium last month. They will be aiming for another victory to enhance their prospects of cementing a top-four spot in the Premier League.
