Coutinho set for Barcelona exit

Barcelona make transfer decision on Philippe Coutinho

11 February 2020 - 19:50

Barcelona have reportedly told Philippe Coutinho that he is free to leave the club on a permanent basis this summer, provided any club meets their £77m price tag.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Brazilian has enjoyed a successful loan season at Bayern Munich with seven goals and eight assists but they are said to have no intention of taking up the option to buy for £102m.

According to Express, the Blaugrana are contemplating over the sale of Coutinho on his comeback and they could be prepared to make a significant loss on his services.

Coutinho was recruited from Liverpool on a £142m package in January 2018 but it appears that they are prepared to accept a much reduced fee of around £77m for his departure this summer.

Liverpool have been linked with a possible reunion with Coutinho in the summer amid reports that Adam Lallana could head through the exit door when his contract expires.

Coutinho will no doubt want the assurance of regular first-team football with any move and it remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp's side are prepared to guarantee a starting role.
