Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been ruled out for three weeks due to hamstring injury, according to Sky Sports News.

  • Chelsea confirm season-ending injury for midfielder

  • The English midfielder sustained the injury during the UCL knockout clash against Atletico Madrid, getting subbed off in the 80th minute.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Henderson would be out of action for around three weeks, but added that the injury isn't too severe.

"[Henderson] could have been worse. It was a hamstring [issue] and there have been a lot of different hamstring injuries around in the Premier League, Harry Kane for example," Klopp said.

"It's not that bad but he will be out for around three weeks or so. It is not cool but the way we see it, we were still lucky"

The Reds skipper has been excellent so far this season and has been fancied to win the PFA’s Player of the Year award.

Klopp's men suffered a shocking 1-0 Champions League defeat against Atletico in the first leg but the German remains confident about the reverse fixture at Anfield.
