Manchester City will face heavy competition from Real Madrid for the signing of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
The Spaniard is said to be closely watched by Los Blancos after having scouted him during Napoli’s game against Brescia, where he scored the decisive goal.
According to the Express, Cityzens would face a stern battle from Madrid for the signature of Ruiz, who is rated at £80m. Madrid's arch-rivals Barcelona are also said to be keeping tabs on the Euro U-21 winner.
The 23-year-old has been plying his trade with Partenopei since joining them in 2018 and has become a key cog in their midfield.
Cityzens have a massive task to fill the void of veteran midfielder David Silva, who will leave Ethiad at the end of this season.
However, it remains to be seen whether they could lure Ruiz to the Etihad, given their two-year ban from European games.
Pep Guardiola’s side are currently second in the Premier League table and will face Los Blancos in the UCL round of 16.
