Atletico Madrid make contact to sign Arsenal striker

09 March 2020 - 18:11

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have reportedly made contact with the representative of Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette regarding a summer move.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The 28-year-old has endured a tough campaign by his standards and he has netted just nine goals in all competitions for the north London giants.

Lacazette has recently clarified that he has no plans of parting ways with the club in the summer but Soccerlink claims that Atleti are looking to tempt the forward to join them.

Atleti were previously keen on landing Lacazette from Lyon prior to their transfer ban in 2017 and they have since been linked with his services on multiple occasions.

Atleti sporting director Andrea Berta is understood to have reached the striker through his agent and it remains to be seen whether any move materialises during the summer.

Lacazette has two more years remaining on his contract with the club. As per reports, the Gunners will consider offers for the Frenchman with manager Mikel Arteta planning a summer overhaul.
