Barcelona could reportedly go head-to-head with Chelsea in the race to sign Alex Telles from Porto during this summer's transfer window.
The Blaugrana have the likes of Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo at their disposal for the left-back role but the latter has failed to impress since his move from Real Betis last summer.
On the other hand, Alba has suffered as many as three injuries during the current campaign and he has looked out-of-form with just one goal and one assist in the league and European games.
According to Sport, the Blaugrana are likely to move for a new left-sided defender and they have their sights on signing Telles, who is also on the radar of Premier League side Chelsea.
Telles has enjoyed his best-ever scoring season with eight goals for Porto and in addition to this, he has contributed six assists for the Primeira Liga outfit.
The 27-year-old has already turned down a new contract with Porto beyond next season and the club are expected to sanction his sale for around £35m when the transfer window reopens.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking to replace either Marcos Alonso or Emerson with a new left-back and they could face a transfer tussle with the Spanish champions.
