Manchester United optimistic of midfielder's stay

Manchester United are reportedly optimistic that Paul Pogba will remain at Old Trafford for the 2020/21 campaign.

  • Chelsea set asking price for Nicolas Jackson
  • The Frenchman has been regularly linked with a departure from the Red Devils and his agent Mino Raiola has personally admitted that an exit could be on the cards.

However, according to The Independent, Pogba's chances of leaving the Red Devils appear slim during the summer, considering very few sides are likely to match the £100m asking price amid the coronavirus pandemic.

United are not overly concerned with Pogba's situation after the success of January signing Bruno Fernandes but they are still reluctant to cash in on the Frenchman for a reduced fee.

Fernandes has contributed three goals and four assists from nine appearances for United following his mid-season move and he has also provided a number of key passes for his teammates.

Pogba and Fernandes could share the playing field for United in the coming months, suppose the FA decide to restart the ongoing campaign amid the COVID-19 threat.

Pogba's current deal with the club expires at the end of next season but the Red Devils can extend his stay for another 12 months with a clause available on his contract.
