Manchester United clear their transfer stance on Kalidou Koulibaly

United won't approach to sign Koulibaly

Manchester United clear their transfer stance on Kalidou Koulibaly

24 April 2020 - 15:29

Manchester United will reportedly decline the opportunity to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli despite the fact that they hold a long-term interest in the defender.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The Senegal international has been linked with a Premier League move over the past four years and it appears that the Serie A outfit are finally prepared to sanction his sale.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regards Koulibaly as one of the best centre-backs in world football but Manchester Evening News claims that the club may not necessarily make a move for the player.

The Red Devils spent more than £80m to land Maguire last summer and they also have the likes of Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo in their ranks.

Koulibaly is said to be available for a reduced fee of around £74m but United don't view him as an essential target. He could still seal a big-money move away from Naples with the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain interested.
