Serie A giants AS Roma have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Alexis Sanchez on loan from Manchester United this summer.
The Chilean is currently on a temporary stint with Inter Milan where he has struggled with just one goal scored from 15 appearances.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sanchez is due to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season but he is unlikely to reclaim a spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Instead, the Red Devils will aim to loan him out for another campaign and it is claimed that the Giallorossi are keen on a move for the former Arsenal and Barcelona man.
Still, they are unlikely to afford Sanchez's £450,000-a-week wages and may only sign him, if United are prepared to pay 50 per cent of the salary during the duration of his stay in Rome.
Meanwhile, the Giallorossi are also aiming to sign Smalling permanently from the Red Devils. The England international has been in good form for the club during his loan spell this season.
