The Blues have followed Sancho for a number of months but they are aware that Manchester United have the advantage over them in the pursuit of the England international.

As a result, they are looking into alternative options and Goal.com claims that the west London side could attempt to secure the services of Chukwueze from Villarreal.

The 21-year-old has bagged four goals and four assists for the Spanish outfit this term and his progress has caught the eye of several clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool.

With the prospect of both Pedro and Willian leaving on free transfers this summer, Frank Lampard is said to be keen on landing another wide attacker in addition to Hakim Ziyech, who was signed earlier in the year.

Chelsea are presently fourth in the Premier League standings.
