Man City join Alex Telles chase

Manchester City enter race to sign Brazilian defender

06 June 2020 - 20:08

Manchester City have reportedly joined Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea in the race to sign Alex Telles at the end of the season.

  • Man Utd to enter race for Chelsea striker target?
  • Chelsea confirm season-ending injury for midfielder

  • Telles has been in superb form for Porto this season and he has bagged 10 goals and nine assists while featuring from the left side of the defence.

His form has grabbed the attention of several elite European clubs including Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain and Le 10 Sport claims that they could face competition from Pep Guardiola's side.

Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko are currently the left-back options at hand for the Cityzens but the latter has been fancied to head through the exit door.

Elsewhere, Mendy has yet to sufficiently impress amid his regular fitness concerns and the club are considering the option of pursuing another defender, who can provide stiff competition to the Frenchman.

Guardiola is said to be a fond admirer of Telles' style of play and reportedly wants the club to 'fight' for his signature when the transfer window reopens.

Telles, who has just 12 months remaining on his Porto contract, has a £33.5m release clause, but the club could be persuaded to accept a lesser figure for his sale.
