William Gallas could be the next Arsenal captain and Thierry Henry's successor. Various candidates have emerged including Kolo Toure, Gilberto and Cesc Fabregas, but Wenger has, for the first time, given an indication that Gallas has all the credentials to take on the armband.
Gallas has recently caused some friction at Arsenal; claiming he is not at the club to finish 3rd place. Gallas has also questioned Arsenal's ambitions in the wake of Henry's departure. The experienced 29 year old has 56 caps to his name and will enjoy having the opportunity to take the armband.
