Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-2-3-1) vs Southampton, Fernandes and Shaw start

13 July 2020 - 16:19

Manchester United are scheduled to host Southampton in tonight's Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

  • Fulham want to sign Liverpool left-back
  • Everton make bid for Oleksandr Zinchenko

  • The Red Devils have won four league games on the bounce and they have the chance to jump into the third spot ahead of Chelsea with a victory against the Saints.

    Formation: 4-2-3-1

    Predicted Lineup:

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no need to make changes to a stable backline. David de Gea is expected to feature in goal. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw should take up the right and left-back positions respectively with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire occupying the central defensive positions.

In the centre of the park, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic have been the regular picks and the duo have remained consistent since the season resumption. Scott McTominay may be picked ahead of Matic tonight, suppose Ole considers a change.

Further forward, Bruno Fernandes is expected to feature in the number 10 position. The Portuguese has been in splendid form since his arrival and he has registered five goals and three assists in his previous five league games.

Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood should feature in the wide attacking roles with Anthony Martial leading the line. Rashford and Greenwood could interchange positions based on the match situation.

Predicted Lineup: David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford.
