Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara this summer, a report from Liverpool Echo claims.
The Spaniard has declined to sign a new deal with the Bavarian giants and he is expected to leave them during the summer transfer window.
He currently has only 11 months remaining on his contract, but Bayern are still said to demand around £30m for his departure.
According to Liverpool Echo, the Reds are not actively pursuing the 29-year-old and are unlikely to make an offer for his services.
The Premier League champions will need to sell at least one midfield player to accommodate the Spaniard and there are no plans of doing so.
Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on Thiago's situation and they could emerge as the front-runners to sign him from the German champions.
Thiago has spent the past seven years with Bayern, but he has turned down an extension to pursue a fresh challenge during the backend of his career.
