Chelsea still short of Kai Havertz asking price

13 August 2020 - 21:34

Chelsea are still some way from meeting the asking price for Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz this summer.

  • Chelsea have discussed move for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Chelsea to make bid for Antonio Silva

  • Havertz has been heavily linked with the Blues over the past few weeks and reports have claimed that he has already agreed personal terms over a five-year deal.

While the German is eager to join the west London giants, the club have yet to meet the £90m valuation, which has been set by Leverkusen.

Frank Lampard's side are only willing to pay £70m for the 21-year-old and Sky Sports claims that the negotiations are set to continue between the sides.

Havertz had an impressive 2019/2020 season with Leverkusen and he managed to contribute 18 goals and nine assists across all competitions.

He has also been linked with Real Madrid in the past, but the Spanish champions have no plans of signing him in the current transfer window.

Chelsea have already made two signings for next term with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech joining them from RB Leipzig and Ajax respectively.
