Manchester United are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Porto for the services of Alex Telles.
The Red Devils currently have Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams as the left-back options, but the former is the only specialist in the position.
Shaw has been good on the defensive point of view, but he has not made much of an impact in the offensive side of his game.
Hence, the club are looking to add competition for the left-back role and The Guardian claims that Telles has been identified as the prime target.
The Brazil international bagged 13 goals and 12 assists during the previous campaign, although most of the goals came from the penalty spot.
The Red Devils believe that the 27-year-old can replicate his showing in the Premier League and are eager to land his signature.
He currently has a £37m release clause, but United are aiming to sign him for £23m, considering his contract expires next summer.
