Arsenal provide injury update on Reiss Nelson

Arsenal have confirmed that Reiss Nelson won't play any part in Sunday's Premier League clash against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

  • Nelson was hugely impressive in the 3-0 Europa League win over Dundalk last week, but could not make the matchday squad to face Manchester United in the Premier League.

He was anticipated to make the starting lineup to face Molde on Thursday night, but was unavailable for the game after suffering a minor knee injury in training.

The north London side have confirmed that he has not yet recovered from the minor setback in midweek, but should return to full training during the international break.

"Sustained knock and bruising to right knee in training ahead of Thursday’s match against Molde. Aiming to return to full training next week," an update on their official website read.

Mikel Arteta is likely to go with the same combination of players, who beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford last weekend. David Luiz recently recovered from a thigh problem to face Molde, but he may have to settle for a bench role.
