Liverpool are considering a summer transfer swoop for Manchester City's central midfielder Michael Johnson. The player has been in superb form for the Blues this year, as Sven-Goran Eriksson brought him through. Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez is ready to offer £15 million in the summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • There have been reports that Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready to offer Peter Crouch in exchange for Johnson in a cash plus player package.

Injury has blighted Johnson's end to the season, but some impressive displays caught the eye earlier in the season.

Johnson is a goalscoring defensive midfielder who many Premiership clubs may have an interest in.

Benitez has already hinted that Liverpool are looking to add to their squad for next season.
