Liverpool are reportedly looking into a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves as they aim to reinforce their midfield.
Georginio Wijnaldum has only seven months left on his Reds contract and so far, there has been no progress over a possible renewal.
According to The Star, the Reds are preparing for the worst situation whereby Wijnaldum could head out on a free transfer next summer.
It is added that Neves is one of their prime transfer targets and they could make a serious attempt to sign him at the end of the season.
Jurgen Klopp's side landed Diogo Jota from Wolves earlier this summer and he has made a huge impact with nine goals from just 15 appearances.
They appear keen on doing business with the west Midlands outfit for the second year running and it remains to be seen whether they can land Neves.
Neves will have only two years remaining on his contract next summer and Wolves may be tempted to cash in for the right price.
