Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has reportedly opened negotiations with Boca Juniors, having entered the final six months of his Red Devils deal.

  • The Argentina international has not made a competitive appearance under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this term and his only game was with the Under-23s before he sustained a calf injury.

According to The Mail, Rojo has opened negotiations with Boca Juniors and he is hopeful that the South American heavyweights can reach a suitable agreement with United.

Aside from Boca, Sheffield United and Newcastle United are also monitoring Rojo's situation, but he fancies a return to his home country where he spent the backend of last season on loan with Estudiantes.

The 30-year-old is currently behind the likes of Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Axel Tuanzebe in the pecking order for a central defensive role. Meanwhile, Luke Shaw and Alex Telles are preferred ahead of him for the left-back spot.
