Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh injury update on Gabriel Martinelli ahead of the midweek Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
The Brazilian recently returned after a serious knee injury and he made four appearances in all competitions before twisting his ankle.
Speaking in the pre-match briefing, Arteta said that Martinelli will undergo scans and he is hopeful that the attacker has avoided another long-term injury.
"We don't know how bad he is. He's getting a scan this morning. We didn't look after the game because he was in a lot of pain but yesterday he tested it a little bit better, so let's hope," He told via Arsenal.com.
The absence of Martinelli may not hamper the balance of the team with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang likely to take up the left-wing position for Alexandre Lacazette to lead the line.
The Frenchman has been in stellar form over the past few weeks. He has contributed five goals and one assist in his previous five appearances in all competitions.
