  • According to reports, Ozil will move away from the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer, after entering the final six months of his contract. Ozil had been left out of Arsenal's squad for the 2020-2021 Premier League campaign despite being one of the team's longest serving players.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had admitted that talks were ongoing with Fenerbahce, and that it was just up to Ozil to decide when to make the transfer move.

The Gunners have agreed to release Ozil early to allow the player to become surely the highest profile player to move to the Turkish Super Lig.

It is understood that Ozil has given up a portion of his salary at the Emirates Stadium in order to push through a transfer to Fenerbahce.
