Real Madrid enter the race for Arsenal striker

Real Madrid could reportedly compete with arch-rivals Atletico Madrid to sign Alexandre Lacazette at the end of the season.

  • Pep Guardiola comments on Cole Palmer's success at Chelsea

  • The Frenchman has recently found his goalscoring boots and he has netted four goals from his previous four Premier League matches.

Still, his future remains uncertain with his contract expiring in 18 months' time and the Gunners have yet to open renewal talks.

It has been reported that Lacazette does not have a healthy relationship with manager Mikel Arteta and that may pave the way for his departure.

Atletico are long-term admirers of Lacazette and Diego Simone is reportedly keen on landing the Frenchman's services in the summer.

However, they could face stiff competition from Real Madrid, who are said to consider the permanent departure of Luka Jovic.

Lacazette is the Gunners' top scorer this term with nine goals across all competitions, seven of which have come in the league.

Overall, he has made 148 appearances for the north London giants, contributing 57 goals and 26 assists.
