Ligue 1 outfit Nice are no longer in the running to sign Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard on loan.
The 28-year-old has fallen down the selection order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he has yet to make a league appearance this term.
Hence, he has been fancied to head out of the club temporarily and Nice were recently credited with an interest in signing him.
According to Sky Sports News, Nice have now ended their pursuit of Lingard and he may have to remain at Old Trafford till the summer.
Sheffield United have also been linked with the services of the England international, but United seem reluctant to loan him out.
His current deal expires at the end of next season and Solskjaer seems content to delay Lingard's departure for another five months.
Lingard has made only three appearances across all competitions and he has been regularly left out of the matchday squads for the league games.
