James wants strong Pompey finish

England goalkeeper David James wants his side Portsmouth to finish strongly in the final weeks of the season. Portsmouth go head to head with Cardiff in the FA Cup next month and James also feels that the club can finish fifth in the Premiership.

  • "We've got the FA Cup final at the end of the season and people could excuse you for taking your eye off the ball in the league," said the England international, a candidate for the PFA Player of the Year.

"But we want to finish in fifth place and it's testament to the team that it is still there for us to achieve."
