Marcos Rojo has ended his six and a half year stay with Manchester United to join Boca Juniors.

  • The Argentine had fallen completely out-of-favour with the Red Devils and he did not make a single appearance for 15 months.

Rojo was initially fancied to join Boca for free with his contract expiring in the summer, but it appears that they have paid a nominal fee.

Meanwhile, Phil Jones continues to remain contracted with the Red Devils and he has been included in the Premier League squad.

The England international was out during the first half of the season after a knee surgery, but he is close to reaching full fitness.

He could act as the back-up option behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe for the central defensive roles.

United are presently second in the Premier League standings, three points behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

They are scheduled to host Southampton at Old Trafford tonight.
