Liverpool have no intention of handing a new and improved contract to midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, Liverpool Echo claims.
The Netherlands international has just over two months remaining in his deal, and he could leave on a free this summer.
Wijnaldum has yet to agree terms over an extension, and it is now reported that the negotiations have reached a road block.
The Reds are not keen on increasing the player's £90,000-a-week salary as he will be 31 before the end of the year.
The Merseyside giants believe the midfielder will be on a decline, and don't feel a salary hike is justifiable for a renewal.
Barcelona and Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Wijnaldum, and the former are deemed the front-runners to land his signature.
Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman managed Wijnaldum at the international level, and he is reportedly keen on a reunion.
Wijnaldum has been with the Reds since 2016. He has accumulated over 225 appearances in all competitions.
