Werder Bremen are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa striker John Carew. The Norweigan player has been in superb form this year and Martin O'Neill is likely to pull out all the stops to ensure the player chooses to stay in the Premiership.
"We are considering the possible signings of players like John Carew or Milan Baros," Werder boss Klaus Aloffs told SportBild.
It is believed Villa would allow Carew to leave for around £10 million, but questionable as to whether Werder Bremen could afford that kind of fee for just one player.
