Chelsea defender makes permanent move to Serie A giants

17 June 2021 - 20:08

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has made the permanent move to AC Milan after the Serie A club triggered the option to buy him.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The England international joined the Rossoneri on loan in January after he fell out-of-favour under then-Blues manager Frank Lampard.

He played a key role in their bid to finish in the top four, and the club have now triggered the buy clause available to them.

As part of the agreement, they have paid an initial £25 million to the Blues with a remaining £5m in the form of add-ons.

The Rossoneri could yet do more business with the west London outfit with their concrete interest in French striker Olivier Giroud.

Giroud's contract was recently extended until June 2022, but he is still expected to leave the club amid limited game time.

The World Cup winner could be sold on a cut-price deal of £3m. West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in him.
