  • It is understood that there is no obligation for Marseille to sign Saliba on a permanent basis, but the French side will pay around 1.5 million euros for the duration of the loan transfer.

According to French reports, Saliba is hopeful that a successful season will help his chances of a return to North London and eventual first-team football with the Gunners.

So far, under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta, Saliba has failed to force his way in to the club's first-team and is now has been asked to spend a season away from the Emirates to develop his skills. According to multiple reports, there are concerns over Saliba's defensive positioning and ball control at Arsenal.

Saliba has 3 years remaining on his deal with Arsenal.
