Ben White has completed the first part of his medical tests with Arsenal, according to Duncan Castles.
The 23-year-old is expected to join the Gunners from Brighton & Hove Albion, and the transfer could be announced by the weekend.
Earlier today, White arrived at the club's training centre for medical scans. He is expected to take the biometric tests later this week.
White will join the Gunners for a reported fee of around £50m. The club are expected to pay a guaranteed £30m by 12 months.
The remaining £20m will be adjusted in two instalments. There is a further £5m that could be paid based on his performances.
Brighton have also agreed a 10 per cent sell-on clause for the centre-back, who only made his Premier League debut last term.
The Gunners are planning at least three more signings before the transfer deadline. A new goalkeeper remains a priority.
They are also searching for a new striker and another central midfielder. Granit Xhaka is widely expected to leave the club.
