Manchester United have suffered an injury blow with Alex Telles unlikely to be available for the next four weeks.
The Brazilian suffered an ankle injury in pre-season training, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now confirmed that the concern is serious.
He is expected to be ruled out until the end of August. Still, the club have the left-back position well covered for the new campaign.
Luke Shaw is expected to start at left-back for the season opener against Leeds United while there is still sufficient back-up in the squad.
Brandon Williams and Diogo Dalot can operate on the left side of the defence. Williams' proposed loan exit could be blocked once again.
He was eager to join Southampton in January for regular game time, but the Red Devils' hierarchy snubbed the approach from the Saints.
The south coast outfit are once again interested in him. They appear set to face disappointment after the untimely setback for Telles.
