Manchester City make Harry Kane transfer decision

Manchester City are unlikely to revive their interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to Eurosport.

  • The Cityzens were keen on landing the England international this summer, and they were prepared to pay as much as £120m.

However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was adamant that Kane was not for sale unless a club paid around £160m for him.

Kane eventually stayed with the north London giants. The Cityzens ended up without signing a new striker before the deadline.

According to Eurosport, the club are unlikely to renew their pursuit of Kane, and may focus on other striking options next summer.

Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland has been a long-term target for them. His £65m release clause becomes active in June 2022.

They are bound to face plenty of competition for his services. Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid could also bid for him.

Meanwhile, Kane is prepared to extend his contract beyond June 2024, provided Spurs are willing to insert a release clause.
