Paul Pogba speaks on his Manchester United future amid contract stand-off

22 October 2021 - 21:01

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has said that he enjoys playing for the club amid speculation over his future.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The Frenchman has less than nine months left on his existing deal, and the club have yet to make progress over a renewal.

United are still optimistic of keeping him, and the midfielder has said that he enjoys playing his football for the club.

He said: "I am always smiling, as I enjoy playing here. I am someone who often smiles, so that means I generally have fun."

Pogba has been offered a weekly wage package of around £400,000-a-week, but he has yet to give the green light.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on his situation, and can negotiate pre-contracts in January.

United are keen to avoid such a situation, and fresh negotiations are planned with agent Mino Raiola in the coming weeks.

Pogba was a second half substitute against Atalanta in midweek, but he is likely to start the league game against Liverpool.
