Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was full of praise for Andreas Christensen ahead of the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Southampton.
The Dane has been a key performer for the Blues since Tuchel took charge in January, and his future with the club remains uncertain.
He has only eight months left on his existing deal, and it has recently emerged that negotiations over a new long-term contract have stalled.
Despite this, he continues to remain an important player under Tuchel, and the German hailed his qualities ahead of today's Saints clash.
He told Chelseafc.com: "He found his place, he’s very strong, he’s very reliable and he has not reached his limits because at this age there is still room to improve."
Christensen was widely expected to sign a new contract at the west London giants, but negotiations have not progressed in the right direction.
The hierarchy have offered a salary package that is insufficient to him. He would remain among the lowest earners with the current offer on the table.
