Arsenal striker fancies move to Atletico Madrid

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is keen on making the move to Atletico Madrid on a free transfer.

  • Xabi Alonso wants reunion with 27yo star at Chelsea

  • The Frenchman has seven months left on his Gunners contract, and he has no plans of renewing his stay.

The Gunners are willing to run down his deal, and El Nacional claims that Atletico could be his next club.

Both Atletico and Barcelona are interested in landing his services but the former are long-term admirers.

Atletico tried to sign him in 2017 from Lyon, but the move fell through after their FIFA-imposed transfer ban.

They have since been linked with him on numerous occasions. Diego Simeone is reportedly a firm admirer.

Lacazette has been convinced that Atletico are an ideal club for him after speaking with Antoine Griezmann.

The 30-year-old started the season on the bench, but he has recently been a regular starter under Mikel Arteta.

Despite this, the Gunners are reluctant to meet his demands for a new long-term contract with a salary increase.
