Wenger unhappy with rumours

Wenger unhappy with rumours

25 April 2008 - 16:19

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is unhappy with the rumours surrounding two of his star players who could both be heading for the exit door this summer. Alexander Hleb has been linked with a move to Inter Milan.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Wenger told Sky Sports News: "If Inter Milan is interested in Alexander Hleb they can call us. I don't know why we have to always respond to this kind of situation.

"All our players, apart from Mathieu Flamini, are under contract.

"If a club wants to buy a player they can call us, or we will report them to FIFA. It's as simple as that. You never hear me speak of a player who is under contract somewhere else if I am interested in him.

"If I want to buy someone I call the chairman and ask him if he is for sale.

"With Flamini, I've always said that the decision will be made at the end of April, in one way or another.

"In this case we do not master the situation, I can understand the speculation. For all the rest I find it completely disrespectful to any other player in our team.

"I can understand the speculation that comes from newspapers, but when it comes directly from the clubs, enough is enough."
