Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has clearly emphasised that there was no contact between him and Ousmane Dembele last month.
The German recently talked about his time with Dembele at Borussia Dortmund which triggered suggestions that the Blues could sign him.
However, the west London giants did not pursue any player in the end, and Tuchel has now said that he has no qualms over the transfer decision.
When pressed about Dembele, Tuchel added that there was no contact whatsoever despite speculation in the media stating otherwise.
He said: "I'm very satisfied because it was a calm window. To be calm is always the best thing."
"We were open to things. I did not have contact with Ousmane. There was no contact in winter, no contact between us."
The Blues continued to be linked with Dembele. The attacker has refused to sign a new Barcelona contract beyond the end of June.
He is free to speak with foreign clubs at the moment. Aside from Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United have also been linked.
Dembele is unlikely to take a pay-cut at his next club. He will be eyeing £210,000-a-week as basic wages from his new employers.
