West Ham surrender victory

West Ham surrender victory

26 April 2008 - 16:48

West Ham surrendered a 2-0 lead against Newcastle at Upton Park to put more pressure from the 'boo boys' on Alan Curbishley, as Newcastle grabbed two goals towards the end of the first half to see the result finish 2-2.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Goals from Mark Noble and Dean Ashton gave West Ham a valuable cushion of a 2-0 lead, in between a very serious looking injury to poor old Fredrik Ljungberg.

Then as half-time approached Obafemi Martins scored with a crisp finish for Newcastle to make it 2-1 and only minutes later Newcastle got an unlikely equaliser through Geremi who headed home.

The second half was set up to be a cracking one but both teams fail to capitalise on a wide open game as the game teetered out towards the end.
