Manchester United will attempt to sign another central defender during this summer's transfer window, Manchester Evening News claims.
The Red Devils pursued Raphael Varane from Real Madrid last summer. It was suggested that he would sort their central defensive concerns.
However, that has not been the case. The Frenchman has impressed in stages, and has lacked consistency amid his knack for picking up injuries.
It is now reported that they could sign another central defender this summer. Villarreal's Pau Torres has emerged as a potential transfer target.
Meanwhile, Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger is another name on their wishlist. The German will be available on a free transfer in a couple of months.
Varane and Harry Maguire have been the regular picks for United this term, but the latter has also struggled with his form over the campaign.
Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are among the back-up options. Bailly and Jones have been touted to leave at the end of the season.
