Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has his sights on returning to Spain with Barcelona this summer, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano reports.
The left-back has been with the Blues for the past six years, but he is now eyeing a new challenge away from the Premier League.
He prefers to return to the Spanish La Liga and Romano claims that Barcelona have identified him as a potential target for the summer.
Alonso is also open to joining the Catalan giants, but there are no formal negotiations at the moment amid the Blues' ownership situation.
The Blues are currently in the process of a takeover which is likely to be completed by the end of the month. Until then, they can't finalise exits.
The club are presently restricted from any contract or transfer activity amid the UK government sanctions on current owner Roman Abramovich.
The ban should be lifted following a takeover.Todd Boehly's consortium are expected to become the new owners. An announcement is due soon.
