Manchester United are open to parting ways with midfielder Fred during the summer transfer window, The Sun claims.
The Brazilian has been one of United's best performers this campaign with four goals and five assists in the Premier League.
Despite this, there has been no progress over a new contract, and there is now talk of him heading for the exit door this summer.
Fred's current contract expires in June 2023, but United have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months if required.
Manager Erik ten Hag wants to assess the midfielder's performance next term before considering whether he is worthy of a renewal.
However, the option of selling him this summer has not been ruled out. If United receive a suitable transfer fee, he could be off.
United are planning to sign two central midfielders in the next transfer window. Frenkie de Jong has been identified as a top target.
The Dutchman could be prised away from Barcelona for €70m.
